Jonathan Loveall has been a learner in public schools since age five. Since graduating from Sheldon High School in 2004 and completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 2008, he has served as an elementary teacher and administrator in rural East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. He is a National Board Certified Teacher with a master's degree in educational leadership from Louisiana State University. As a doctoral candidate at Southeastern Louisiana University, his research on racial disparities in exclusionary discipline has been published in Research Issues in Contemporary Education. He currently serves as virtual education coordinator for East Feliciana Public Schools. As a teacher, learner, citizen, and researcher, he advocates for systems that are designed to center equity, access, and democratic engagement.
